Bowling tablet scoring with live auto-sync

Score runners carry tablets instead of paper slips. Scores entered at the lanes appear at the operator desk as they happen, so the desk is not waiting on handwriting.

How a score runner gets on

Each session generates its own QR code. A runner scans it, enters the operator PIN, and is on — there is no account to create and nothing to install. It works on an iPad or an Android tablet, so you can use whatever hardware is already in the building.

It works on ordinary venue internet

Scores sync through the cloud rather than requiring the tablets and the desk to sit on the same local network. Any Wi-Fi or cellular connection will do, which matters in centers where the guest network isolates devices from each other. An internet connection is required for auto-sync.

The desk stays in charge

The operator desk remains the authority on scores. A game the desk has finished locks on the tablet, so a runner cannot overwrite a completed game, and lane assignments and bowler order are controlled from the desk.

What it changes at the desk

The gap between a game finishing and the bracket updating closes. Brackets, side pots and payouts recalculate from scores as they arrive rather than after a runner walks a slip back.
