Terms of Sale and Software License
What you get when you buy J&K Brackets Pro, how renewals, auto-pay and refunds work, and what each of us is responsible for. Version 1.0 · Effective 21 October 2026.
These terms are between you and J&K BRACKETS PRO LLC, an Illinois limited liability company, 1147 Brook Forest Ave, Unit #836, Shorewood, IL 60404 (email jkbracketspro@yahoo.com). They apply when you buy, renew, install or use J&K Brackets Pro (the "Software"), including its add-on modules, tablet scoring, the Bowlers App page and updates. By ticking the box at checkout, clicking "I agree," or using the Software, you agree to them. If you are agreeing for a bowling center, league, association or other organization, you confirm you can bind it, and "you" means that organization.
1. What you are buying
1.1 A license, not ownership. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the Software on one Windows computer at a time to run your own bowling events, for the term you paid for. J&K keeps all ownership and rights in the Software.
1.2 Packages and modules. The Base Package, Full Bundle and each add-on module unlock the features described when you buy them. The Full Bundle covers the add-on modules listed when you bought it; modules released later are sold separately.
1.3 Free demo. The free demo is provided at no charge, with limited features, for you to try the Software. Sections 9 to 13 apply to the demo too.
2. License term, renewal and auto-pay
2.1 First year included. Your purchase price includes a one-year license starting on your purchase date.
2.2 Renewal. After the first year, your license renews yearly at the renewal price shown when you renew. Add-on modules renew on the same date as your main license, and their yearly fees are added to your renewal total. If you renew late, your new year runs from your old expiry date, unless more than a year has passed, in which case it runs from the day you pay.
2.3 Auto-pay is optional. If you turn on auto-pay, you authorize J&K, through its payment processor Stripe, to charge your saved payment method once a year on your renewal date for your renewal price (including any locked rate under 2.4) plus any applicable tax, until you cancel. We email you before every auto-pay charge: about 45 days ahead and again about 7 days ahead, with the date, the amount and how to cancel.
2.4 Launch locked rate. Customers who bought at launch pricing keep their renewal rate on what they bought at launch for as long as auto-pay stays on. Auto-pay must be turned on at least 30 days before your renewal date to renew at the auto-pay rate. A declined or expired card does not end your locked rate if you update it within the 30-day grace period. Choosing to turn auto-pay off moves you to the standard renewal rate; if you later turn it back on, we will restore your locked rate. Modules you add later renew at their own yearly fee, which raises your total renewal.
2.5 Cancel auto-pay any time from the "Manage" link on jkbracketspro.com/renew/, which opens Stripe's secure billing page, or by emailing us. Cancelling stops future charges; your license runs until its current expiry date.
2.6 Price changes. Except for a locked rate under 2.4, renewal prices may change. Any change will be shown in your advance renewal email.
2.7 Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe; J&K never sees your full card number. If you pay with a financing option such as Affirm or Klarna, your financing agreement is between you and that provider.
3. Refunds
3.1 30-day refund. If J&K Brackets Pro isn't right for you, email us within 30 days of your first purchase for a full refund. Your license is then deactivated.
3.2 Auto-pay renewals. If an auto-pay renewal charged you and you didn't mean to renew, email us within 14 days of the charge. If you haven't used the Software since the charge, we will refund it.
3.3 Other purchases and renewals are non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise or where we choose to make an exception.
4. Activation, computers and transfers
4.1 The Software checks your license when it starts. One license key can be active on one computer at a time.
4.2 Moving to a new computer. You get one free transfer per license year: just activate on the new computer. Your expiry date does not change when you transfer. Any further move in the same license year counts as another computer and needs another license at the current price.
4.3 You may not share, resell or rent your key, or let others use it on another computer.
5. When a license expires or ends
5.1 Grace period. If your license expires without renewal, the Software keeps full function for 30 more days and shows a countdown.
5.2 View and print after grace. After the grace period, the Software becomes view/print only: you can open, view and print your saved sessions, but cannot start new sessions or build brackets. Renewing restores full function.
5.3 Your files stay yours. Your session files are stored on your computer, not on our servers, and they stay on your computer whatever happens to your license.
5.4 Ending a license. We may end your license if you break these terms, for example by sharing your key or reversing a payment you owe. A license ends only when the Software starts up, never during a running session.
6. Updates and support
6.1 Updates are included while your license is active. Updates are offered, never forced: you choose when to install them. We recommend you don't update on the day of an event.
6.2 Support is by email at jkbracketspro@yahoo.com. We aim to reply within two business days. "Priority Support" with the Full Bundle means Full Bundle customers' messages are answered first. Support covers using the Software as described in the Operator's Manual; it does not include running your event.
6.3 No uptime guarantee. The desktop Software works offline. Online features (license and update checks, tablet scoring through the cloud, the Bowlers App page, renewal pages and the tournament directory) depend on the internet and on hosting companies, and we provide them with reasonable effort but without a guaranteed level of availability. Tablet scoring can also run over a local Wi-Fi network. Keep printed score sheets on hand as a backup for every event.
7. Your responsibilities as the operator
7.1 You run the event and handle the money. J&K provides software that calculates brackets, pots, cuts and payout amounts from the information you enter. J&K does not take entries, collect entry fees, hold prize money, pay bowlers or run any event. You decide the formats, rules, entry fees and payouts, and you collect and pay all money.
7.2 Check before you pay. You are responsible for checking entries, scores, handicaps, bracket results, cuts and payout amounts before paying any bowler. Review scores entered on tablets by scorekeepers or operators. Treat the Software's results as a calculation to check, not as the final word.
7.3 Your events must be lawful where you hold them. You are responsible for making sure your events, side action, entry fees and prizes comply with the laws and rules that apply to you, such as state and local gaming laws, USBC rules, your center's rules, and tax reporting for prizes. Laws differ from state to state, especially for formats with a random draw, such as the Mystery Pot or a blind partner draw. Don't offer a format where it isn't allowed.
7.4 Backups. Keep your own backups of your session files. We don't keep copies of your sessions.
7.5 Tablets and links. You control your session QR codes, links and operator PIN. Keep the PIN private, end tablet sessions when you finish, and take the Bowlers App page down when you no longer want it visible.
7.6 Bowler information. You decide which bowler names and scores you enter and whether to show them on the Bowlers App page. You are responsible for any notice or permission your bowlers, or parents of youth bowlers, need. Don't enter sensitive information such as dates of birth, home addresses, phone numbers or payment details.
8. Cloud features and data
8.1 What the Software sends us. When it starts, the Software sends our license server your license key or license ID, a scrambled (one-way hashed) identifier of your computer, and the Software version. It does not send your session files.
8.2 Tablet scoring. The bowler names, lanes and scores you score on tablets pass through our cloud service so they reach your computer, and are cleared when you finish the session.
8.3 Bowlers App page. When you turn it on, the session and center name, bowler names and averages, scores, bracket numbers, eliminator rounds and alive/out status appear on a web page anyone with the session's link or QR code can open, and the link can be forwarded. It never shows money. It expires 30 minutes after your last update, and you can take it down any time.
8.4 We handle the bowler information you enter only to provide these features to you, not for our own purposes. Our Privacy Notice explains the rest.
9. Restrictions
You may not copy the Software (except one backup copy of the installer), modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law expressly allows; remove its notices; get around its license check; or use it to build a competing product.
10. No warranty
THE SOFTWARE AND ALL ONLINE FEATURES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, J&K DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. J&K DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE OR ITS CALCULATIONS WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
11. Limit of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS: (A) J&K IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR AMOUNTS PAID OR OWED TO BOWLERS OR OTHERS BECAUSE OF RESULTS PRODUCED BY THE SOFTWARE; AND (B) J&K'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ABOUT THE SOFTWARE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID J&K IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
12. Claims about your events
If someone makes a claim against J&K because of your event, your handling of entry fees or prizes, information you entered or published, or your breach of these terms, you will cover J&K's reasonable costs of dealing with it.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and it applies from your next renewal or when you next accept it, whichever comes first. The version and date are at the top.
14. General
Illinois law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The state courts in Will County, Illinois, or the federal court for the Northern District of Illinois, have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either of us may bring a claim in small-claims court. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms, together with the price and product description shown at checkout, are the whole agreement about the Software.
